CEF Investment Being Offered

The South Dakota District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod is offering TERM SAVINGS CERTIFICATE accounts to South Dakota LC-MS members.

Investments - The District's Church Extension Fund is offering the following Term Certificate accounts:

The District's Board of Directors is responsible for establishing policy and procedures for the Church Extension Fund.  Quarterly (January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st) the Board sets the Interest Rates for the Term Certificate accounts.  Investor's making a deposit into a Term Certificate account will receive a Certificate.  This Certificate serves as evidence of the investment and contains the terms of the investment.
Terms - Each Certificate is issued with an automatic renewal provision.

Withdrawals - Certificates may be withdrawn at any time; but the corporation reserves the right to demand a thirty (30) day notice of withdrawals.  The only action necessary to withdraw Certificates is for an investor to endorse his or her Certificate and surrender it to the business office of the corporation.

Interest Payments -  Investors may have their interest earnings paid to them by check, or the interest may be reinvested to accumulate on the balance of the Certificate account.  For those accounts which choose to have interest paid by check, a minimum certificate balance of $2,000 is required.  The interest rate may change on a quarterly basis.

Penalty for Early Withdrawal - Investments withdrawn before the maturity date are subject to an interest forfeiture penalty of 30 days interest for 3-Month and 12-Month Term Certificates.  3-Year Term Certificates forfeit 60 days of interest for early withdrawal.
