The Mission of the Church Extension Fund (CEF) is to assist the South Dakota District LC-MS and its congregations by providing loans to:
Acquire real estate for the future expansion of the Church.
Construct or improve the buildings used for the preaching, teaching and outreach ministry of the Church.
District's Church Extension Fund is a partnership between individuals, congregations and the District. CEF operates by receiving investments (through term certificates) from our Lutheran members and congregations. CEF lends these funds to congregations for their capital funding needs. District administers the Fund by collecting interest on the loans and paying interest to the investor members. This partnership enables our member's resources to be used in support of the mission and ministry of the church.
CEF's ministry is truly special in that it gives its participants a double blessing. Individuals and congregations who invest in CEF not only earn a favorable interest rate, but their dollars also provide the financing to expand the church through ministry in new or updated facilities. In other words, Church Extension provides the resources for "A Hope and A Future."
