The Weekly Word
Read: Romans 1:16-17 It is human nature to try to make our own actions seem right. When confronted with something we have done wrong our first instinct is to find someone to blame. We do this so we seem to be innocent. God will have none of this. We simply need to confess our sins, our failures, our struggles, and our shortcomings. It is the Good News, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that in Jesus, a righteousness that comes from God is shared with us. It is not our deeds or excuses that count. It is God's work in Jesus that counts. It is knowing this and trusting this that connects us with the Gospel, the power of God for rescuing us from sin, death, and Satan himself.
